—In-game description, New Mystery of the Emblem
The Wo Dao is a Sword that debuted in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade.
Overview
The Wo Dao appears repeatedly in the Fire Emblem Series. Like the Killing Edge, the Wo Dao boasts a high Critical Rate and light Weight, at the cost of low Durability and Might. In Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade and Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, the Wo Dao is locked to the Myrmidon and Swordmaster classes.
This sword is analogous to the Shamshir from Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, in which the latter replaces the former. In Fire Emblem Heroes it gains axe and lance equivalents in the form of the Wo Gùn and the Harmonic Lance respectively.
The weapon also makes an appearance in the spin-off title Fire Emblem Warriors as the personal weapon of Navarre, found in his personal History Mode map within the Shadow Dragon DLC pack A Brush in the Teeth.

Etymology
Wō dāo (倭刀) is a Chinese term that literally translates to "Japanese Sword". These blades were principally employed as the weapons of choice by the Chinese during the Ming Dynasty, where they were said to be heavily influenced by the intricacies of Japanese sword designs.
The word wō (倭), pronounced wa in Japanese, was also one of the earliest names for Japan and its people in Chinese, considered pejorative since the 8th century (due to being related to "dwarf" in meaning) and replaced with hé (和), which is also pronounced wa in Japanese while having more positive connotations (meaning "peace, harmony").
