Xavier (ゼーベイア Zēbeia) is a former general of Lenster who sided with Freege after the fall of Lenster in order to save Lenster's people from annihilation. He can be recruited by Leaf after all of the civilians have talked to his troops.

In-Game

Xavier can use all weapon types except tomes and staves, has a leadership star, and possesses three powerful skills: Wrath, Charge, and Big Shield. The combination of his incredibly high HP, Strength, Skill, and Defense, along with Wrath and Big Shield, makes him a fierce defensive unit that is incredibly difficult to defeat, or survive. While having Charge is sometimes actually detrimental (due to drawing out a battle with an enemy unit that your own cannot defeat, leaving him possibly low and vulnerable to another unit), his Great Shield skill and high defensive stats help offset the potential dangers.

Taking advantage of his A rank in bows and axes allows him to use any non-personal weapon in the game from either type right from the start. While he has some weaknesses in the beginning, like the aforementioned low speed, his great growths (especially with the abundance of crusader scrolls by the time he is recruited) balance out these weaknesses relatively quickly. Considering all of these factors, he is definitely worth using if you are willing to fulfill his difficult recruitment condition, being arguably one of the best units in the game.

It is worthy of note is that he is one of only two playable characters able to use lances indoors, the other being a promoted Dalsin. Though contrary to his manual artwork, Lances are his lowest weapon skill at E rank and raising it will be a time consuming process.

Xavier - The Loyal Veteran (忠義の老将軍 Chūgi no rō shōgun)

Xavier worked alongside Leaf to build the New Kingdom of Thracia. His rich experience and vast knowledge served to be extremely valuable in making important decisions, and the youths in the New Thracia's government often looked to him for advice.

Notes

Xavier's manual artwork depicts him with a Lance even though it is lowest Weapon skill.
Xavier was probably a Bow Armor or Axe Armor prior to promotion.
