The Yewfelle (イチイバル Ichiibaru, transliterated as the Ichii-bal in the Fire Emblem Museum; Alternately translated Ichaival in Fire Emblem Treasure) is a holy Bow from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. This bow was once wielded by the Ulir the Crusader, bestowed upon him by an unidentified Divine Dragon during the Miracle of Darna. The Yewfelle is the property of Ulir's descendants, who double as the heirs of House Jungby of Grannvale.

In Genealogy of the Holy War, the Yewfelle grants its wielder bonuses of +10 Strength and +10 Speed, alongside imbuing them with the Renewal skill. This bow may only be equipped by users possessing major Ulir holy blood.

Background

Prior to the events of Genealogy of the Holy War, when Lord Ring of House Jungby departed to participate in the war against Isaach, his daughter Adean persuaded him to leave the Yewfelle behind, under the justification that she could utilise the bow to identify her missing sister Briggid.

As fate would have it, the sisters eventually reunited north of Agustria in Chapter 3 of the game, as an amnesiac Briggid attempts to flee the clutches of the hostile Orgahill pirates. It is at this point that a latent power of the Yewfelle is revealed, as Briggid, upon taking hold of the bow for the first time, instantaneously recovers every single memory of the past that preceded the time she had spent cohabiting with the Orgahill pirates.

The tragic Battle of Belhalla that later occurs in Chapter 5 of the game sees Briggid seemingly disappearing without a trace, a fact that leads to her son Faval inheriting Yewfelle from her. Initially introduced in Chapter 8 as a mercenary working for Bloom out of desperation, Faval later defects to Seliph's army upon Patty's urging, whereupon he pledges the power of Yewfelle to liberating the continent of Grannvale from the Loptyr Empire's nefarious ambitions.
